writing over the word limit
(2023)
Poetry
Fellow classmates have always given me a hard time for writing over the word limit in school. I'm not sure what they expected from an aspiring writer but, no matter. My debut poetry collection is titled "writing over the word limit" as an ode to all the other young writers who should never be limited by word counts. We write and write and then rewrite. But additionally, there should be no limits to what we can do through words because of the impact they can have on the world or just one person. This book is a love letter to all those pushing the boundaries and breaking through ceilings.
They say, “Why” and we say, “Why not?”
(Lafayette taught me that but we say, Cur non!)
